A STEAM-y Night For Baseball

Before the first game of the Cincinnati Steam doubleheader on Thursday, July 27, 2006, the Price Hill Saints once again honored Yah'Kile Powers by taking part in the Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League team's Field of Dreams promotion. Members of the Class C (ages 10-12), Class D (ages 8-10) and the Noncompetitive (ages 5-8) teams took to the diamond with our local future Major Leaguers for the National Anthem at Western Hills High School.

Field of Dreams Ceremony

Along with the edge-of-your-seat action on the field, the kids got to do fun events like coloring and cornhole, plus visit with the Reds' very own Gapper!

Activities for the kids

For the kids that stuck around for the second game against the Xenia Athletes-In-Action, they got to be the bat and ball people for the Steam.

2nd Game Bat & Ball People

During the rain delay, the Steam's little helpers got to visit each player on both teams and collect autographs on their uniforms!

Fun & Autographs with the players

It was definitely a fun evening for both the Saints and the Steam! The team has already asked us to come back next season and we readily accepted. Thanks go out to all the players, the owner and General Manager of the Cincinnati Steam and a huge congratulations to the boys and girls of the Price Hill Saints that truly made the evening a Field of Dreams!
